Exhibition Statement:

I came upon these scenes and was struck by their ‘aloneness’. The fog had made them separate, quiet. Normal things removed from time and space, and in a way, disconnected and alone, connected to nothing.

Artist Bio:

Paul Mitchnick is an award-winning cinematographer based in Toronto. His insatiable curiosity is satisfied by travelling around the globe. 

“I have either been a camera assistant, camera operator or cinematographer pretty much my whole life. Films, movies for television, documentaries and commercials have taken me around the world, with a still camera my constant companion. I have had the good fortune to work with world-class directors and cinematographers, and had great storytellers as mentors.”

Paul’s work on movie sets feeds his appetite for still photography and, in turn, his photography feeds his cinematography.
