1. Photo Idol:
Hiroshi Sugimoto. I saw his ‘Theatres’ series at the Vancouver Art Gallery in the late 90’s and I immediately understood the gravity of his artistry.
2. Best location you’ve photographed:
Bob’s house. I met a guy in a bar in Palm Springs and ended up at his houses - two, across the street from each other - ’til 4am … Two houses full of taxidermy, and live snakes. I’ve been trying to get back in there for years. So. Much. Taxidermy.

3. Fantasy portrait subject:
I have an unrealized project written down in my Ideas Book since 1995 titled, ‘Scars’. Not so much face portraits as portraits of human experience via the scars left behind on the body. It’s on my to do list.
4. Favorite photo book:
Album covers. The first time I saw ‘Europe After the Rain’ by Max Ernst was in the gatefold of an album by John Foxx. Album covers have always been a highwater mark of photography and fantasy.
5. Guilty pleasure:
There is no guilt in pleasure.
